Hello, dear fellows.
Sorry for my absence, but I've lost myself in these humdrum days.
Every autumn I feel a bit down, but I'm trying to fill this period of time with a bags of creative and amusing practices and learn something new. And if you have the same situation I strongly recommend you this method. It could be whatever you want: a new sport, a course of calligraphy, learning a new language or try tobe a flexitarian. If you don't understand who is that, google it, but you may guess) I love this type of neologisms which are actually consisted of two separate words such as "hangry"or "slacktivism".
But the topic of this post is not about how to survive this autumn, although, I suppose, it would be very helpful for this moment. However, we are here thanks to English. And today I gonna tell you how you can improve different skills of the language. If you forgot, I remind you that there are 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
So what's the secret?
It's pretty simple - CALL. It stands for Computer-assisted language learning. In the future I will try to open this approach post by post, but let's start with language skills and my fave digital resources.
No. 1. BBC Learning English. This site is my forever love. The resource has a countless number of advantages. Firstly, you can improve your listening, because the site contains a numerous amount of audio and podcast on different trendy topics and I am sure that you find something suitable whatever level of English you have. Plus the hosts are the British, which is the perfect variant for practicing British accent. Secondly, you can can find a range of intermediate grammar programmes to boost your language skills. Grammar topics include present tenses, the present perfect continuous, the past perfect, zero conditionals, reported speech, relative clauses, passive voice, intensifiers and much, much more. Moreover, there are pronunciation workshops for beginners, the essential part in speaking. I could describe this wealth of information for hours, just check it, you won't be disappointed.
No.2 Quizlet
