I want to draw a line

Hey, dear fellows! Christmas time is the best time to sum up our work. Conclusion number 1: Being a blogger is not so easy as could seem. You should be dedicated, passionate to explore, creative. And sometimes it’s really complicated to find proper words and entertaining topic. But during this time of being blogger I started to notice interesting details about world, language and teaching. Take my advice and try blogging, it’s thrilling. Conclusion number 2: the community. Trust me, you won’t be alone. People here are really supportive and inspiring.  My best-loved blogs: https://dumlog4dummies.blogspot.com Just read it! It’s perfect mixture of knowledge and humour. https://frustristics.blogspot.com I do like Masha’s blog. The simplicity of design and words make you understand everything even if you don’t want. I want you to say to yourself “ You did a good job and deserve a bit of rest”. See you in 2020, fellows.

Is "Web 2.0" just another buzzword?

Out of all the Internet buzzwords and jargon that have made the transition to the public consciousness, "Web 2.0" might be the best known. Even though a lot of people have heard about it, not many have any idea what Web 2.0 means. Some people claim that the term itself is nothing more than a marketing ploy designed to convince venture capitalists to invest millions of dollars into Web sites. There wasn't even any agreement about if there was a Web 1.0. Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, dismissed the Web 2.0 concept. He called Web 2.0 "a piece of jargon" and said "nobody even knows what it means" in an IBM developerWorks interview. Berners-Lee said the World Wide Web was always a way for people to connect with one another and that there was nothing new or revolutionary about the Web 2.0 philosophy Other people insist that Web 2.0 is a reality. In brief, the characteristics of Web 2.0 include: The ability for visitors to make c

Mobile-assisted language learning One of the most recent changes in English language teaching has been the use of mobile devices. The present article is an introduction to mobile-assisted language learning (MALL). Mobile-assisted language learning, a successor of computer-assisted language learning, is a new phase in second and foreign language learning. I have chosen to focus on this aspect due to the increasing interest that students show in using mobile devices in order to practise languages and the relevance of these devices in today’s context. MALL combines mobile learning with computer assisted language learning. It has gained popularity in the last few years due to our hectic mobile lifestyle and the widespread adoption of mobile telecommunications and computing devices with Internet connections.   MALL offers to all learners an unprecedented range of learning possibilities that expand outside the limitations of traditional learning spaces.” MALL can be successf

WHAT IS WIKI

Hello, dear fellows! Chances that you have heard of Wikis by now - seem to be popping up everywhere. For example, the most famous wiki is called Wikipidea, a massive online encyclopedia. Wikipedia has become so large (more than a million articles) that you run across it all the time in Google. It is so popular that it is now one of the Top 100 web sites in the world! Wikis are growing because, at their core, they are about as simple as can be. That simplicity means that people find them easy to use, just like e-mail and blogs. Like e-mail and blogs, wikis also perform a very useful service in a simple way. A wiki allows a group of people to enter and communally edit bits of text. These bits of text can be viewed and edited by anyone who visits the wiki. But at the same time,  Wikis also seem very strange to many people. Where does all the information come from? Is it reliable? What stops people from vandalizing a wiki until it dies? People assume that because anyone can

SURVEY SERVICES

Hello, dear fellows. Today we gonna discuss survey services and find out why teachers are obsessed with different kinds of polls.    I have recently mentioned that a lot of teachers tried to incorporate interactive tools into their teaching to keep students engaged and interested. One such technology that is free and easy to use for all involved is polling software. If you'd like to integrate polling into your classroom, check out these tools: Poll Everywhere  This is the polling software that I use for my classroom and also to present at conferences and events. You can easily set up polls and deploy them from a desktop computer or your smartphone. Participants can use their desktops, smartphones to text in their answers, or even tweet their responses on Twitter! Results display in real-time in a beautiful interface for all to see. Socrative Socrative  is one of the most well-known (and widely used) student response systems, and for good reason.  T
